Tickled Pink

Thanks to everyone who applied for the  two part-time jobs at Tickled Pink bridalwear and in Mens Hire. Both vacancies have now been filled and we look forward Laura joining us in bridal sales, and Jill returning to Mens Hire after a break. Both vacancies are due to increased sales, as we plan to meet the needs of future brides and grooms.

Tickled Pink is a member of the Retail Bridalwear Association, and offers  free ABTA style protection for brides, that protects any money paid out on their wedding dress should any disaster befall a member shop. Once a dress order is placed, the bride registers details on the RBA website -www.rbaltd.co.uk- detailing the dress style and money paid. All details are held  under the authorisation of the Data Protection Act on the RBA computer, allowing  details to be retrieved quickly. The RBA then can contact suppliers to find a dress of a suitable style and size. In these troubled times on the high street it is comforting to know that with the Brides Protection Scheme money paid out is totally secure, a concept unique in the UK wedding industry, if not worldwide. Many thanks to all those mums of brides and grooms and their friends who turned out for the Tickled Pink occasionwear fashion show last week. Our sales girls were run off their tootsies all day with clients  forming a cheerful chatty queue for the eight changing rooms.

Steady business growth in bridal, fashion and menswear has prompted us to advertise for two extra part-time posts to help meet future demand. Twenty-five years in the wedding business and expanding during a so-called Recession – it can’t be bad. See this week’s Doncaster Free Press Recruitment Section for details. In many ways it’s due to our loyal customers – they just keep recommending us to their friends ands family. Thankyou so much. But let’s not forget our fantastic sales and sewing girls. Let’s hope we find two more superstars to join our team.

Our trade association The Retail Bridalwear Association has been taking more email calls on their Helpline from distraught brides about their disappointment  over ordering wedding dresses over the internet from non-uk based producers.  Dresses have failed to turn up , been poor copies , wrong size and colour – and no way of getting their money back. Many of producers do not mention that the bride will be responsible for all import duties, especially on dresses priced below £40. For more information why not visit www.brideswaware.co.uk. Sunday February 12th is the date to remember for Tickled Pink’s salon-style fashion show. Held in our Fashion Department, with drinks nibbles and fashion chat, there are shows at  11.00 am and 2.00 pm with an exclusive opportunity to view, choose and try on, on the day. Owners Dave and Sandra have re-joined the Nuffield gym and swim and resident nurse Gail who gave them their Health MoT told them her daughter had shopped around but chose Tickled Pink for her dress because of the warm welcome she received and the caring staff she befriended. Thanks for that Gail, a great start to 2012. (Mot passed by the way, both with flying colours)
